After the live chat with Mr Aroor, I decided to buy the digital copy of the book and started reading it (didn't have any work to do :D).

At the very beginning, 3 cruise missiles rocketing toward Jinnah Base, and suddenly the 'abort' made me angry! Damn, should have let those three crash right in!

Focus shifted to Kashmir, and 3 friends having a good time in a place known for its scenic beauty and some picture of the place shared in FB by Varuna!

Then the party started - Attack on their cab, driver killed by a sniper shot, of the 3 girls, 2 killed mercilessly, AND Varuna - Kidnapped at gunpoint.

Who is Varuna? Well, daughter of Chief of Naval Staff, Rana.

    So why was she Kidnapped?

Rana's wife was at Taj on the day it was attacked by Pak-based terrorists!
She was shot in the head in front of him. What followed was mayhem AND I SO WISH IT WAS FOR REAL!

Rana, along with 3 commandos, Saraswati Subramanian aka SS, Akeela Thomas, and Vikramaditya Singh went on a covert mission in an X3 Jatayu chopper. During its flight, it was refuelled by IL 87M, later joined by a Mig-29K which was on a combat patrol. The pilot was initially not given the mission details but later included in the mission to carry out a special task - use the booming sound of its twin jet engines to cover the noise of the chopper and boy, did he not do it well and also avoided a SAM in the process.

The chopper landed, and the three commandos took out 3 armed personnel at an anti-aircraft site near the safe house where Hafeez Sayeed was hiding. Later used anti-material round to blow the shit out of HS, and blind a woman in that house (later revealed, she was a deep asset for Akeela), however, left HS's son alive.

    Out of Question!! Right!

Enter the 3 commandos again - Akeela, Saraswati and Vikramaditya! But Rana was asked not to go in this mission by PM!

In the meantime, US President, handed a CIA intercept to Indian PM containing a conversation between Pak military top brass with the terrorist!

So how does, India go in this time - X3 out of question!

Enter AURA - 3 commandos in the weapons bay of the UCAV released at 50K feet above Pakistan!
However, the plane got hit (intentionally) by a SAM by keeping it's bomb door open allowing radar lock!

Man, I finished reading this at 3.45 am yesterday and I was really thinking if I could ever see this happening.
India giving it back to Pakistan for all the damage it inflicted on India.

Kudos to Mr Shiv Aroor for this! Really enjoyed it!

And really hope, Indian government can do this (maybe in a different way).

It was good and real till the half way. After that it turned into complete fiction. Then it started to exaggerate India's capabilities and downplayed Pakistans capabilities. It was like a bollywood film. The hero will get hit only in the hand, that too in the end. While the opponents are completely destroyed. The number of opponents had no effect on the outcome of the fight.:disagree:

Fiction - yes! But where did it downplay Pak's capabilities?

Today Pakistan have enough capability to do regular surveillance on a place where they are keeping a VIP hostage.
To add to that fact, that place saw Indian special forces coming and killing a high value target, 7 years ago. So on a second time any country with a decent military must be able to spot and stop such an operation. But still in the novel, Pakistan failed for the second time, to spot and stop Indian special forces, who were airdropping themselves on "daytime" to that same place, which is now protected by Pakistani special forces.
Also crossing Pakistan border to India on a partially broken vehicle, while all Pakistani forces missing their targets when firing with machine guns, sniper rifles and RPGs, is a bit too much for me to take seriously...
Then there is China. Don't forget, it's not US, it's China who is now a days protecting terrorists inside Pakistan.. Also China is helping them in both economically and politically. They have good satellite surveillance capability, by which they have been helping Pakistan many times... But in the novel, it doesn't mention any of these anywhere... It's like China doesn't exist. The fight was only between India and Pakistan. Only US coming into picture in the end.But in real life, it will always have China's help, in one way or another....
