It carries 390 crew. That's way more than any other destroyer. We also need to make do with the ancient RBU series for some reason, which could comfortably haul another 16 BrahMos VLS in place. Those BrahMos VLS are also much larger than the American Mk-41's.

    It all adds up.

LOL, thankfully it did not blast. But its a very bad feeling to sleep on containers of gun ammo even though I later got used to flying an aircraft with live bombs/rockets right under my backside seated on a device people call ejection seat. And I was lucky to have used it twice and yet survived to fly again.

Did you have any neck injuries when you used the ejection seat?

My first was ejection thru the canopy. I did not have time to jettison the canopy so I ejected thru it. In fact in very recent gathering of Naval Aviators, I had my seniors touching top of my head to see if its still as strong. First one was from Martin baker H4HA seat, I suffered concussions of spine and my height was reduced by one centimeter for for one week.
The second was from Mk-10 seat and I had no problems of spine except that I had some pain in my back muscles for about two weeks. and my wife took care of that with daily massage. trust me i loved that more than anything else. LOL.
