I wonder if the Chinese are banging their heads looking at the situation in Pakistan.

The Chinese and Pakistanis are like Dumb and Dumber. In due time the Chinese will learn what a massive, steaming pile of shit they've stepped in by getting so deeply involved with Pakistan.

They will definitely do a rethink now on CPEC project, looking at all these protests.
    They will blame India anyway as it is their band-aid excuse for everything bad in their country. I wouldn't mind if India pumped in some Cash .materials and some support to Protesters , give Pakistan a taste of Kashmir Stone pelters on steroids(here it should be automatic weapons.Rpg's instead of stones}

All this , purely for their venom against Ahmadis. This law change would maybe have reduced 0.1% of their troubles in Pak. These groups are so adamant not to allow even that. Well God bless the Ahmadis. They played a pivotal role in pakistani separation. Saved us the trouble of dealing with the extremists.

Why don’t you look at the Hafeez Saeed release as part of a larger strategy?

That is a rhetorical question :)

Let us look at the sequence of events as unfolding above. What is the most striking feature? As per me, it shall be the pitting of Radical Fringe Parties against the Government. Mind you, there is no difference between Government and Army for these elements here. I will explain that subsequently.

Coming back, Hafeez Saeed is running a campaign based on religious lines against India. His refrain has been in the larger set of religious incantation to fight against an order established.

By arresting Saeed Pakistan landed in a fix. If they prosecuted him, they would accept that they were complicit in Mumbai carnage by virtue of enabling him and his organisation. It would also have angered the very same ultra religious fundamentalist organisations, one example of which that they are now facing. Now appreciate the dilemma. By releasing him, Pakistan again has taken a decision between a rock and a hard place. His release itself will manifest a systemic weakness of Government/System against a small group mainstreaming in political circle in spite and despite being an ultra fundamentalist Organization.

The coup de grace lies in the demand of this group - sacking of the Law Minister. If GOP does not do it, it faces a prospect of increasing insurrection with an unwilling army (which is willing for GoP to fail to step in anyways) backing it up. If it indeed sacks the law minister, something they are mulling, it shall be another instance of Government not being able to stand against the ultra fundamentalist in country. What does any ultra fundamentalist group need? A lack of effective governance and severely fissured society to grow. Look at ISIS and AQ, they have always manifested in such conditions.

    Enjoy the fun.

That I can see very well sir but Pakistan's internal politics, the grasp of military on power by hook or crook is never going to change. The conspiracies, the belittling of civilians, pushing press hawkish attitude towards elected govt by funding so called jurnos is not going to change for few more decades.

Pakistan is continuously sowing seeds for future jihadis even when the decade old crop is still breeding so things are not going to change internally anytime soon, nor by CPEC, nor by anything else.

Coming back to Hafiz Saed, I was asking if he is still no 1 priority to us and Pakistan is paying for him (not in internal politics). I understand he is a great asset to us alive as he can help us by taking responsibility of attacks which we find difficult to prosecute (sometimes due to lack of evidence), that anytime Pakistan army project false narrative of operation against terrorist his rallies bust all the million dollar image building, like in case of Zarb-e-azb.

It just didn't make sense to be powerful yet let someone who bled us roam free, enjoy freedom, what's the meaning of power then? How are we different from Afghanistan who plead or threat Pakistan for Tablian training and support?

As far as destabilizing the govt using Mullahs in Pakistan I think Pak army got much more credibility in Pakistan and if they want to take over no one will lift a finger, if they want sway in govt decisions, they already own every department! If it's about pushing religious sentiments, enabling Difa-e-Pakistan militants to teach lesson to civilians don't you think Maulana Sami-ul-Haq or Fazal-ur-Rehman or even this new kid Khadim Hussain Rizvi is better suited for it? JuD barely have any standing on domestic politics (though they are trying now), they are more Kashmir centric, dont have any grand standing as religious leader either.

Edit: GoP just caved in, law minister resigned.

Pakistani court is doing zabardast chitrol of Pak army and Pak army chief.

Judge said Pak army to give up weapons of they want political roles, mediation jobs and can't follow orders. Who is army chief to decide mediation and I will be missing person after these remarks!

Pretty bombastic and bold remarks. The condition of Pakistan is so pathetic that a judge fear for become a "missing person" just for remarks and yet some great pakistani propagandists claims independent judiciary!

No wonder every evidence against terrorists is rejected, if ever some judge sentence a terrorists the pakistani's(napaki's) will beat him to death in court room itself. We should use these remarks as an evidence of not following due process in Kulbhushan Jadhav case.

True to a certain extent but not if you take the whole of population as a set.

The classical rise of salafists is marked by the progression as follows: 1. Start a movement ----> 2. Claim Sharia is more supreme for their way of life & ask government to allow them to follow their beliefs without disturbing them ----> 3. If Govt allows, slowly declare that Constitution is not supreme, Sharia is. ----> 4. Concomitantly increase their 'following' by whatever means necessary, raise a public outrage and hue and cry if actions are controlled under Constitutional Statuettes by the Govt ----> 5. Once the Government publicly backs out of confronting them increase the base, if not, take to arms.

Modus operandi is similar .. be it Boko Haram, ISIS, AQ, or smaller fringe groups rising to mainstream in majority of 'tolerant' groups.

To a large extent I agree and disagree - both at the same time. Will elaborate later
