    The mystery of 6 new subs for PN have solved , they are those highly advanced Quing Class subs. Pshamim [few of you know him] 's prediction has come true again.

    Its Qing and not Quing
    The Qing class has AIP correct me if im wrong,any idea on the costs ?? the Indian estimates for 6 AIP subs was about $4bill!!

    Thanks for the correction , i will keep you guys updated over costs. btw we are getting two Type54A Frigates on 10 years lease contract too.

    $4 Billion? Can Pakistan afford it? IMO the entire defence budget for Pakistan is around $5 Billion. How are they financing their deal?

    No problemo :cheers: leasing is the only feasible situation for the PN due to economic situation and budget allocation(PA eats up a lot of the funds).
    When you use leased vehicles one has to pay a lumsum amount,how much is it or is is a soft loan or extended payment plan??

    I posted the article about 6 subs already on the forum - this just specifies the type of the subs. Hopefully i will post some news source too.

    PNS Alamgir, Kuwait Navy to hold joint exercise

    Islamabad—Pakistani Naval Ship (PNS), Alamgir will hold joint exercises with Kuwait Navy during a good-will visit to Kuwait from July 2 to 6.

    Pakistan Naval Shipsperiodically undertake goodwill visits to the State of Kuwait which provide excellent opportunity to Pakistan Navy officials to interact with their counterparts at brotherly country Kuwait.

    It also helps in further improving the strong relations between the two countries. The ship is named after Emperor Aurangzeb Alamgir who was the sixth Muslim ruler of Great Mughal Empire.

    PNS ALAMGIR was commissioned on Aug 31, 2010 at Mayport Florida USA.

    The ship has a tonnage of 4100 tons with overall length of 138.1 M. It is multi mission capable ship, fitted with potent weapon and sensor systems.

    The ship is capable of carrying two ASW Origin Helicopters. The mission of the ship is to maintain the standards of professionalism and excellence which are a hallmark of Pakistan Navy.

    The Commanding Officer of the ship, Captain Naveed Ashraf during the stay in Kuwait will pay courtesy calls on senior officers of Kuwait Navy. A reception will be held on-board which will be attended by the senior civil and military officials of Kuwait, diplomats, notables and members of the Pakistani community.

    Turkish Naval ships visit Karachi Port

    KARACHI, July 2 (APP): A flotilla of four Turkish Naval Ships has arrived here for exercises with Pakistan Navy during a three-day visit to Karachi.The ships-TCG Barbaros, TCG Gemlik and TCG Gelibolu, along with a logistic vessel TCG Gungor, are part of the ongoing counter-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden, Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea.The spokesman of the Turkish Maritime Task Group (TMTG), Lt. Savas Guleroglu, told reporters onboard TCG Barbaros here on Saturday that piracy is a threat to the security to the maritime operations.

    He said that the TMTG will support the ongoing counter-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden, Somali Basin and adjoining areas to enhance cooperation and contribute towards the multinational efforts and endeavours in this regard.

    The TMTG provides naval escort for Turkish and non-Turkish flagged vessels in the area and facilitate international efforts to help provide shipping protection for merchant navy vessels transiting the Gulf of Aden.

    Lt. Savas reiterated Turkish Navy’s commitment for the security of the sealanes of communications and safe passage for all the vessels.
    He said it also includes conducting exercises and training in order to enhance inter-operability and improve bilateral relations among the allied and friendly nations.

    Lt. Savas stated that the Turkish ships would also conducted anti-submarine exercise, advance manoeuvering and air defence with Pakistan Navy.

    Pak, Turkey hold joint naval exercise

    ISLAMABAD: The deep waters of Arabian Sea witnessed a Pak-Turkish joint naval exercise dubbed as Deniz Aslan-11 (Sea Lion) on July 4.

    The exercise was conducted in two phases in which four ships of Turkish Maritime Task Group and three Pakistan Navy ships along with a submarine participated.

    The harbour phase encompassed a planning conference, a seminar on tactics and procedures and communication drills. The sea phase included an air defence exercise, advance manoeuvers and Anti-Submarine Warfare procedures.

    A two-star admiral commanded the visiting Turkish Task Group. The navies of Pakistan and Turkey reaffirmed continued support to each other in combating terrorism, piracy and illegal activities in the maritime sector.
