Yes this sounds about right for whats currently deployed to the west. I just did some calculations and plots ...and the thing India needs to plan for is the use of their longest range missiles (shaheen III) as short range carriers to get much higher max altitude and assume whatever number of MIRVs can fit in the throw weight ...for worst case scenario.

For example right now shaheen II max altitude can be changed from about 400 km (for peak range) to more than 700 km...keeping re-entry speed the same (i.e using that as the constant total energy imparted by the rocket) and varying the launch angle to get an idea of the performance dynamics of this kinetic system. The re-entry speed I calculated is about the 4 - 4.5km/s (didn't bother to go into air resistance etc)...so your memory is good. It would be around 5 - 5.5km/s for shaheen 3. All calculated using stated max range.

So India will have to estimate how much miniaturisation of warheads Pakistan is truly capable of and also the more pressing short term problem of defeating countermeasures (given those have less weight penalties than MIRV retrofit). You are thus very right that the best, most efficient way (long term) is to cover the full interception altitude profile up to 1000 km+....building it up layer by layer of altitude as dictated by the current and future threat profile and best way to stagger the resources and budgets towards the technology development and production appropriately.

S400+PDV+AAD +barak+Akash=pakistani nuke threats finished. Add lasers and microwave weapons and chances of hit is completely washed.:azn:

Yeah something seems off for sure. The range dropped from parent shaheen III of 2750 to only 2200 km for MIRV?

The derived payload increase is about 20% from conservation of kinetic energy (one stage was lengthened apparently, but I cant see it being enough) using re-entries of 5.2 km/s dropping to 4.6 km/s....so no way thats enough for MIRV, forget countermeasures as well like some were claiming.

Guys so with this new inteceptor here is how things stand, with IIR seeker (two color one) inteceptor would see clearly its target, then it will hit to kill with its force and the new warhead would explode at the same time.

Sending many of 640 of these small explosives i side the enemy RV or RVs.

Once inside these will be like this (second image in the pic)

Once inside these small explosives will explode inside out

    Ah...There you go...

The Incoming Target Missiles mimicked the trajectory of a 'hostile ballistic missile' launched from more than 2000Km's away....

    There we go....Cool....

    Desi Seekers...New Propulsion..... Awesome....

So.... Does Anyone Know....At What Altitude Exactly do the RV's of the Ababeel Seperate...!?

If the Payload is intercepted before the RV's seperate....Then the MIRV effect is nullified....

Let's assume a trajectory from a Pakistani Launch Site to Delhi....The Path Distance will be anywhere between 700-1000 KM...
In such a trajectory....What is the Maximum Altitude a Ababeel Payload Will reach before seperating into Multiple Warheads...!?

It did not had 2000km range ..... The target missile mimicked a 2000km range missile .

Apart from the new seeker , the best news is that the new PDV sports a new propulsion .

The older PDV appeared a bit slow .

    Depends on degree of maneuverability.
    It's a very potent missile.
