Petrol cars always give lesser mileage when compared to Diesel of the same class

Thats the reason Diesel cars have higher VAT charges on them.

Just imagine and think about my solution to this price hike. Pls think carefully and then post a reply.
Indian transportation fuel burden is 80% diesel and 20% petrol.
We have aso called subsidy of INR 450/LPG cylinder
We provide highly subsidised kerosene 90% of which is used for adultration and pocketed by politician mafia.
GOI justifies high taxes by stating the burden of subsidy on LPG and Kerosene and lower price of diesel due to agriculture.
same excuse is given for differential price of diesel and Petrol.

Now the truth and the solution.

Every household which uses LPG also has a petrol driven two wheeler or a car which consume 20/60 ltrs of fuel each month.
Many houses have two wheelers but no LPG especially in villages.
20% of all Diesel is consumed by industries and gensets to run cellphone towers.
Agriculture accounts for less than 8% of all diesel consumption in India that includes the diesel burnt by people in villages to use tractors as means of transportation. All farmers who have tractors have land holding of more than 50 bughas.
    They do not need subsidy.
GOI must reduce the price of Petrol and increase the price of Diesel. Every one rupee reduction in price of petrol will be offset by just 25 paisa increase in diesel price.
People do use transportation regularly but the effect of reduction of petrol prices will allow them to pay for the real value of LPG cylinder.
The real poor farmers have to rely on monsoons for irrigation, the increase in diesel price will not effct them at all.
STOP speculative trading in forwards of all food items and fuel in INDIA.
Allow ETHANOL production to be a cottage industry. Even the peels of potato and human shit can be converted to Ethanol. That will take away the need for subsidy on kerosene. Every villager will have sufficient ethanol to fire up his chulha and also run his diesel pumpset. However who will ensure that big alcohol companies who have paid and bribed GOI make a killing for it when GOI has fixed a price for ethanol @ 27/ltr while it can be produced for as low as @INR 7/ltr.
The mixing of ethanol in petrol and diesel will reduce our import bill of crude by 25%. And we can do it within two years. But for that Reliance will have to take a hit. Reliance is whr all the money of the waitress and her children is parked.
