NEW DELHI:Against the backdrop of the killing of Osama bin Laden and the situation in Pakistan, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today took stock of the country's overall security scenario with the military top brass.

The 90-minute security review at the Prime Minister's residence was attended by Defence Minister A K Antony, National Security Adviser ( NSA )) Shiv Shankar Menon, the three service chiefs, Defence Secretary Pradeep Kumar and DRDO Chief V K Saraswat.

"The Prime Minister was briefed on the overall security measures and the general preparedness of the defence forces. Issues like changing security situation in Pakistan and the situation along the Sino-Indian border were discussed," Defence Ministry officials said here.

Last Wednesday, the Defence Minister had also reviewed the measures taken by security forces in view of the situation in the neighbourhood. He was briefed on the coastal security measures taken by maritime security agencies.

Bin Laden was killed in a covert US operation on May 2 in Abbottabad near Islamabad.
