SRINAGAR: A Kashmiri Hizbul Mujahideen over-ground worker (OGW) collected and distributed Rs 70,000 among the stone pelters of Kashmir.

A police press release said that the Hizbul over-ground worker Fayaz Ahmad Wani, resident of Lolipora Pattan, was arrested following a specific information by the Baramulla police on Tuesday.

One letter pad and one receit book of the banned terror outfit Hizbul Mujahideen was recovered from his possession.

The police said that during questioning, the accused disclosed that he had been collecting funds on behalf of Hizbul and was distributing the same to the families of various killed terrorists and OGWs and among the families of those people who were injured in the recent agitation.

He was also instigating people to join the militant ranks and avenge the killing of the people during the recent unrest in the valley. Wani also told the police that he had been actively participating in organising processions in the area.

The release said that Wani was presently functioning as Tehsil President of Hurriyat (G) after the arrest of Showket Ahmad. Wani along with district president Hamza Molvi would collect money from Hurriyat (G) HQ at Hyderpora, Srinagar.

Recently he had collected and distributed Rs 70,000 among various stone-pelters of Palhallan, Pattan and its adjoining areas and even among the families of persons who are presently under police detention. He had organised a group of youth, who were given responsibility at village level to organise violent protests against the Govt at regular intervals.

An FIR under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act has been registered against Wani in Pattan police station. Investigation is in progress and further arrests are expected.

Oh well lets see, one person was part of a terrorist plot against India and responsible for killing scores of people in cold blood including security forces.

OTOH we have a person who is accused of paying $ to people to throw stones.

I believe punishment should fit the crime. Obviously you feel differently about it.

In our country if a person asks someone to commit a murder than both are responsible for Murder. This is not my thinking. This is the Law.
