    Norway's 222 police per 100,000 citizens breakdown.

It's worth noting that His Majesty the King's Guard, the Norwegian Home Guard and Military Police also have general policing duties and can be found on the streets as well. Typically they're reserved for overflow or mass events, but you'll see them out every so often.

I wonder what France and the UK look like today though? Have either of them seen an increase in deployed police units in response to terrorist incidents?

    Does police include intelligence services?

I remember reading that some 115,000 police officers and gendarmes were currently mobilized under the state of emergency. Important events are placed under heavy security surveillance. Sunday,50.000 police officers, gendarmes + 7.000 soldiers were mobilized for the first round of the legislative election. With the help of municipal police forces.

Recruitments were stepped up after the terror attacks and about 10K more police officers and gendarmes were recruited under François Hollande's term. New president Macron pledged to recruit 10K police officers and gendarmes.

    No,doesn't seem so.

    What's the source?

Is there a list of what they counted as police for each country?

Are they taking overseas territories into account?

You see, that's what's probably needed for anti-terror stuff. Plain-clothed police walking the streets do not really deal with intercepting terrorists as pert of their day job.
