He isn't disparaging the Rafale,he was saying that it is a good aircraft but was significating that it risks to be outlcassed within a decade without significant changes. He had the standard F4 in mind.

I respect the General Lanata, and he's right about the rest, the Brits have modernised and upgraded their air force at a faster path that us. They have modern means..... transport aircrafts.....tankers.

For exemple the Brits don't have an air deterrant component yet they have 14 A330MRTT in service, when we are only planning (for now at least) 12 of them and we didn't even receive the 1st. For now we have to work on tankers dating back...... wait for it !..... dating back from the De Gaulle era...

I am waiting for the next white paper and military programming law..... the President has promised considerable efforts for the armed forces.... let's wait and see.

Macron promised a lot, and delivers little. Like everyone else before him, he will bow down to the Austerity God and sacrifice the future of his country for the sake of respecting the arbitrary 3% number. There's no way an investment banker like Macron will ever see the world differently than all the other beancounters.

Well the German-Franco cooperation won't produce fruit until late 2030's so it's not surprising.
