This point alone excludes the possibility of clinching the deal for Boeing.

    Fine !
Some noises here in France are about a upgraded M88 version to be induced in Qatar's Rafale for 2018 with 82Kn. 82/75 = +10% !!!

I hope India's top brass are aware of these points. But DA must think that it is preferable to be discreet, if only with respect to Qatar

Is it really important to communicate on Twiter or facebook to sell arms ?

Yes it is if you are against Saab, LM and Boeing

Even more if you say it's cheaper and tag Trump and say F35 is killing US economy. Enough to have a retweet and also an endorsement saying French folks are the best..

And our whole country full of ignorant folks who worships anything USA related to be of Alien technology level to accept Rafales as most practical solution..

    Honestly.. not joking !!

As the engine is expected to weight the same, the T/W ratio is better.
So better short take off spec, better supercruise spec (as the 10% more are able on dry and PC modes), and maybe more loading capacity.

Rafale is already open for 24.5 tons. It's huge.

very well equiped Rafale of this pic :
    10 tons for the empty plane + 4.7 tons for internal fuel + 3 x 2000 liters tanks = 6 tons nearly (density of fuel < 1 but add pylon and tank weight) + 6 AASM with 2 pylons = 6 x 340kg + 2 x 100kg (?) = 2.2 tons + 2 Meteors = 0.33 ton + 4 Mica = 0.44 ton . TOTAL = 23.7 tons
If you put 2 x SCALP instead of the 6 AASM, add nearly 0.6 ton = 24.3 tons.

Maybe a weight increase could be usefull in the case of conformal tanks added. But no news about that.

In a democratic nation where the populace is ill-informed and the media openly biased? I would say YES.

The fact is, in India, DA is engaged in a propoganda war with the likes of LM, Boeing and SAAB, refusing to take part will not make the war cease, it will ony allow DA's opponants to have an unobstructed goal.

For all the anti-Rafale articles we have seen, how many pro-Rafale have we seen?

Like it or not, all of this negative PR against DA/Rafale has created a perception issue for the Rafale (seen as costly and French as out to loot India), this has allowed the predatroy OEMs to swoop in and offer their products (F-16s/F-18/Gripens) depsite them being unwanted and having failed the IAF's technical criteria.

I would say DA has a huge PR issue on its hands in India and the ONLY thing that has saved them is Modi's sense, but if forwhatever reason Modi is less involved in the next stage of MII talks things could get very ugly for DA and Parrikar will find it easy to sell the F-16/Gripen buy to the gulable masses and bought off media.

Media has no relevance when defence deals are signed. It doesn't matter how negative the publicity for the Rafale is.

The western lobbyists play this game because that's how their markets are. Example, the Swiss referendum that killed the Gripen deal. But in India, advertisement has no relevance.

We recently had Raha saying the IAF want more Rafales, nothing gets better than that kind of advertisement.
