Rare photo of a Soviet MiG-25 covered with sheets after its pilot, Victor Belenko, landed at Hakodate Airport in Japan in a successful bid to defect to the US. USA thought the MiG-25 was an agile air-combat fighter rather than an interceptor. In response, the United States started a new program which resulted in the McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle.

    F-16
USN had rejected the option to use F-16 as a carrier borne fighter due to its narrow landing gear and single engine config, although for many years they used them for DACT training

Rare photo of India's First Fighter, Marut which means "Spirit of the Tempest". This twin-seat Marut was the first aircraft type developed in Asia, to be able to fly supersonic and the aircraft despite having features comparable to its contemporaries worldwide had an under-powered engine which was the main reason for early demise of the aircraft.

I wonder why IN doesn't go for such stuff. We have hundreds of islands in and around IOR which we may have
    to defend/attack in future.

Rare photo of Kiev Class, even INS Vikramaditya is a Kiev Class Vessel. Something for Yak jump jets to call home, like the famous British Sea Harrier, the Ruskies also developed their VTOL aircraft called Yakovlev Yak-38. This is Kiev, in 1996 she was sold to a Chinese company, and was a military theme park in Tianjin 2004. In August 2011, the ex-Kiev began taking guests as its new role as a luxury hotel after a refit costing £9.6 million.
