QE is not a supercarrier, only Gerald is. Still, nice images!

I was wondering why the US Naval Super Carriers have a flat take off deck rather than a elevated one like the Russian.. Stupid question I know but it could help in getting elevation

Previously abandoned version of Queen Elizabeth class carriers have similar design as USN's carriers due to it's CATOBAR configuration.

Flight desks comparison between the current (above) and previous (below) designs.

Well, QE only barely qualifies for that displacement ( 64,000 long tons according to Wiki).

However, the more important criteria would be the capability of the ship - having nuclear propulsion, able to launch fixed-wing aircraft
other than fighters (AEW, transports etc.).

    Still, it's a great ship.

This was the original Thales design, right? The French Navy also looked to acquire a similar class of carrier, but with nuclear propulsion.

The idea seems to have been dropped now, though.

Thales never designed anything for the previously planned 2nd carrier for France. The design of French 2nd carrier was based on QE class carriers designed and developed by UK. France paid hundreds of millions of $ to the British government in order to share the QE class design, but their plan was cancelled last year due to insufficient funding from the French government and they lost all their payments as well.

QE class will displace approximately 72,000 tonnes when the construction is done. UK never had any intention to build the carriers with nuclear reactors due to many reasons we learned from the French carrier which is cheaply made and it has been experiencing with constant problems since it was launched. In other words, it is not a successful nuclear-powered aircraft carrier like the ones serving in USN which are significantly more expensive and much greater in size. CdG will be decommissioned in early next year until end of 2018 due to major refit in dry dock. Having one aircraft carrier is no different to having none. Get at least two or do not even bother at all. This is one of the reasons why the UK decided to adopt STVOL configuration rather than CATOBAR with 2x EMALS which would cost additional multi billions and delay the project as well, and this would also mean the RN would not be able to affod. Our interest is also different to America's. We only wish to operate the fixed-wing carriers in the South/North Atlantic Ocean and Med Sea where our oversea military bases and oversea territories are located. Regarding with the QE's capability, I'd say that these ships will project power and capability that the RN never had before. They will be armed with a mixed of Apache, Chinook, Lynx Wildcat, Merlin Crowsnest AEW, Merlin, F35B and UAVs. Each carrier could be packed with up to 50+ aircraft during the war time.
