In Swiss evaluation report, Gripen fares batter in Air to ground strike and recon.

Eurofighter really needs to catch up. The new AESA radar will improve a lot of Typhoons capabilities.

How? It's got higher wing loading, it is heavier... and Gripen I am talking about is Gripen NG, which has good T/W ratio.

TWR of Typhoon was highest among all the aircraft entered in Indian MMRCS competition. :smoking1:

Thats difficult. With enough thrust you can overcome the drag in a tighter turn.

I know. But T/W ratio is important for maintaining energy during turn and recovering it after turn; for turn rate, it is wing loading that matters. So yes, Gripen will be able to do tighter turns than Typhoon at first, but it will loose energy faster. On the other hand, Gripen is smaller and lighter aircraft, which automatically means less drag, meaning it might not even loose energy that fast.

Better than Sukhoi variants simply by virtue of being smaller... one on one, can beat any Western aircraft with probable exception of Eurocanards.

I would have to add in my chart first. But I have been.... delayed. I have just got back. Who would have thought after watching batman it would be hell getting back home.

    Here is my chart:

Well. Depends size to weight of the aircraft. But Gripens wingloading is very delicate. But yes it has the best turn out of all the Eurocanards.

And best part? SAAB said that NG will have even lower wing loading.
