Errr. How??? More wingloading sounds good but if they plan to make the wings bigger that will add weight hence lowering TWR.

There are quite a few options. AESA saves weight, but it is swashplate in Gripen, so no savings there. Another possibility is a lighter engine, or more composites in airframe. Larger wings are also option, since Gripen NG is getting new engine with more thrust - I don't know how much more exactly, but TWR will be over 1 at dry thrust.

I'm a bit skeptical here, SAAB is moving rather slow in their NG project, and i think they might eventually kill it without further orders. MMRCA blow was quite big for them.

    Hello SB,
They do have orders for Gripen E/F C2 air crafts. Which is not developed yet. Right now they needs orders for E/F C1 aircraft only. Which they offered in MMRCA. In past they didn't got such big order in their life time, I mean MMRCA size order.
Their Gripen project is moving ahead like C/D---> E/F C1---> E/F C2---> fifth generation aircraft.

I dont think my aircraft chart suits the gripen because its a lightweight fighter unlike F35, Rafale, Eurofighter and other larger aircraft.

If F35 is fifth generation fighter, then Gripen is too.

I will talk tomorrow, internet too slow.

However I will say that if they do not increase the wing size on the newer heavier aircraft then it could start becoming a F35. So hope it gets bigger wings. I am talking MTOW.

    Heres my two cents
Go for the gripens. Given the fact that in any future Croatian conflict of its interest and sovereignty most major eurofighter wielding nations would jump in to help, I'd say go for gripen. You will have an excellent and low cost jet, and the capability of typhoons will be there to assist in your conflicts when UK, Germany, Italy rush in to help with their typhoons. Croatia will benefit from typhoons presence anyways, but it should take into consideration the fact that cheap gripen with ability to use dirt roads will not only complement the euro typhoons but it won't break the financial bone of the country either.

Not only that but we don't need to have airports for them... just make a good road through mountain and have a hanger inside the mountain that is linked to the tunnel... put Gripens in it, and airbase is there.

I think we shall soon see Gripen costing slightly less than Rafale/EFT

...while having worse wing loading than F35.

They should leave it mostly as it is, just put in IRST and throw radar out.
