Because for the Missile, its a one way route and they cannot defend you airspace for the enemy aircrafts.

Second Check the number of the American Cruise missile used against a syrian airbase, and the time it took toe the base operationalized.

The Shenyang J-16 (Chinese: 歼-16) is a strike fighter[3] designed and manufactured by Shenyang Aircraft Corporation, China. This is a multi-role fighter/bomber variant based on the J-11BS with longer range and upgraded avionics, a concept similar to F-15E Strike Eagle. The first few photos of J-16 were published on Chinese internet websites around June 2012.

According to media reports, China developed the Shenyang J-16 fighter based on the Shenyang J-11B airframe, with modifications from the Russian Sukhoi Su-30MKK that was sold to China in 2000.

The J-16 is able to carry a full range of indigenous Chinese equipment including super and subsonic anti-ship missiles, air to air missiles, satellite guided bombs, cruise missiles and electronic countermeasure (ECM) jammers.

The J-16 will be used to strengthen the use of Chinese-made anti-ship missiles to combat surface ships. [8] Russian media and said J-7 compared to the J-16 larger body, the maximum load of 12 tons, and can launch YJ -62 and YJ-83 anti-ship missiles. In addition, the photos from the Internet can be seen.

J-16 equipped with the domestic "Taihang" turbofan -10A engine. Also, J-16 equipped with AESA Radar(automatic electronic scanning phased array radar), with multi-target combat, performance similar to the US F-15E fighter bombers. J-16 electro-optical aiming system (EOTS) is a high performance, lightweight multi-function system. It includes a third generation of staring forward-looking infrared (FLIR). This FLIR can accurately detect and identify targets at farther away from the zone. EOTS also features high-resolution imaging, automatic tracking, infrared search and tracking, laser indication, ranging and laser point tracking.

As of April 2014, the PLAAF has taken delivery of a regiment of J-16s

China is testing its new PL-15 long-range air-to-air missile (LRAAM) designed to shoot down defenseless U.S. Air Force and U.S. Navy aerial tankers and airborne early warning and control aircraft (AEW&C) from as far away as 300 kilometers.
PL-15 is outfitted with a sophisticated radar seeker and a powerful dual pulse rocket motor, a combination that makes this LRAAM a serious threat to high-value aerial targets such as tankers and AEW&C planes deep behind enemy lines.
The rocket motor allows the PL-15 to fly a semi-ballistic trajectory to achieve extra long range. Chinese media said the PL-15 can reach out to over 300 km at a speed greater than Mach 4 (4,900 km/h). The missile's cruising altitude is about 30 km

During the 11th China International Aviation & Aerospace Exhibition, or Zhuhai Air Show 2016, China unveiled the PL-10E, an export variant of the PL-10 5th-generation short-range imaging infrared (IIR) homing air-to-air missile (AAM), which itself intended to equip the People's Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF) 5th-generation stealth fighter aircraft.
The PL-10 SRAAM is produced by the Luoyang-based China Air-to-Air Guided Missile Research Institute (formerly the Luoyang Electro-Optics Technology Development Centre), a subsidiary of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) consortium, and the designer and manufacturer of all infrared (IR) homing variants in China's PL (Pi Li/Thunderbolt) series AAMs.

The Sukhoi Su-30MKI[a] (NATO reporting name: Flanker-H) is a twinjet multirole air superiority fighter developed by Russia's Sukhoi and built under licence by India's Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) for the Indian Air Force (IAF). A variant of the Sukhoi Su-30, it is a heavy, all-weather, long-range fighter.

Development of the variant started after India signed a deal with Russia in 2000 to manufacture 140 Su-30 fighter jets.[3] The first Russian-made Su-30MKI variant was accepted into the Indian Air Force in 2002,[4] while the first indigenously assembled Su-30MKI entered service with the IAF in 2004.[5] Additional MKIs have been ordered to increase the total from 272 to 314. The IAF had 230 Su-30MKIs in service as of February 2017.[1] The Su-30MKI is expected to form the backbone of the Indian Air Force's fighter fleet to 2020 and beyond.[6]

The aircraft is tailor-made for Indian specifications and integrates Indian systems and avionics as well as French and Israeli sub-systems.[7] It has abilities similar to the Sukhoi Su-35 with which it shares many features and components.[8]

The latest avionics, AESA radar, WS-10A turbo fan engines , and the latest PL-15/PL10 air-air missiles installed on the J-16 are all developed by Chinese. Even the air-frame of J-16 has been modified and improved, only the aerodynamics of J-16 is based on Su-30.

On the other hand, so called super sukhoi upgrade for the Su-30MKI all rely on Russian technologies. Furthermore, the electronics industry of Russia is far behind Chinese right now, such as semi-conductor, CPU and IC design and manufacturing as well as AESA radar R&D . Do not expect too much to the Russian avionics and radar.

BTW, the only one advantage of Russia to China is the turbo fan engine technology. However, when the Chinese WS-15 turbo fan engine into use in a few years later, this advantage will disappear.

Do you know copied items always have flaws....
We have may examples to prove china as copy cat master but only in looks. They can't compete in technology level.
Almost all civilian and military machinery is copied from all around the world..

    I never trust CHINESE material.

Even when I asked my nephew, the antonym of ORIGINAL.
The response from him shocked me, He said, ''CHINESE"
