    Thats cause,
    the focus is to reduce the dependence on
    RAM material as much as possible.

    After Ram Coating we can expect at least 0.001 m2 :cheers:

    Are you serious 0.001m² is too good to be true ... The b2 has a rcs of 0.1 m²... With ram coatings et al ... Besides the pak fa is not designed to be pure stealth... Just doubtful that's all ....

    B2 is like 5 Pak Fa's. And Radar shaping is what the Pak Fa has and what the B2 has not got.

    But the Pak fa has vertical and tail sections which are big radar giveaways.... Wait .... Even the Russians say that the f 22 has less rcs and the f 22 is smaller... So what would be the rcs of the raptor ..... Or do the Russians use better ram coatings...

    They sayt the raptor rcs is like marble sized. Pak Fa will have more RCS than the F22 but not as much as the B2. Also remember the Pak Fa's vertical stabiliser is not as large as the F22s. Pak Fa could probably fly without its vertical stabilizers due to its TVC which will reduce its rcs further. However the Pak Fa is only really stealthy at the frontal area. Which is all you need from a jet.

    Stealth Aircraft Theres a lot more to stealth then just the design of the plane,,,,we should know, we have been building them for 30 years and used them in five wars......... a plane is not a plane till flys and its not a fighter until it fights.

    Hmmm so F-22 and F-35 are not planes then.

    Besides, a true fighter is not one that fights but one that fights effectively.

    RCS of F-22 is 0.0001 m2

    and dont compare PAK FA with B-2,
    B-2 is like 5 times bigger and wider than it.

    Radar shaping? Take a look at B-2 - it is a flying wing, which is one of airframe configurations with smallest RCS; it was even realized by Germans in World War II. But B-2 is HUGE. As in, flying sauropod.

    Makes sense ... the rcs size of the f 22 is somewhere near a small stone while the pak fa is something like an oversized cricket ball...
    That the vertical stabilzers can be removed i dont know...

    They are not fighters because they have never been in a fight but they are planes because they have flowen,,, The PAKFA is not a plane because it has never flowen....I expect it will be more of a crasher then a fighter.

    Of course they can be removed, Russian planes are big tinker toys you can do what ever you want.....India just wants the big part from Russia,, they little parts they are going to get from Israel and Europe,, an HAL is going to put it all togather......this is going to be fun to watch.

    pakfa is a ship it floats in water there is a even a danger that it might sink f-22 is plane because aliens from outer space from the planet bushkaLM. All of you people are dumb and all the defence corporation are dumb Lockheed martin is the only one who knows how to make defence equipment All hail Lockheed Martin

    The B-2 as a 'flying wing' design is already unstable in the yaw axis, which is what vertical stabilators are for. So in order to maintain contrability in the yaw axis...

    The B-2 uses the 'split ailerons' method to effect yaw axis control. You can see it on the 'top' or port wing tip in the example above. There is a reason why the 'split aileron' method is effective for the flying wing design but far less for other shapes: the pivot or fulcrum.

    This is basic physics. The flying wing design offers the longest fulcrum length. As the wing tip is split, excessive but precisely controlled drag is created at the fulcrum's maximum length, making attitude change easier. The paragraph mentioning 'low observable penetration mode' is also significant. For any 'stealth' design, moments of physical aspect changes creates the highest odds for RCS spikes where a seeking radar may acquire a momentary EM glimpse of the aircraft. In this mode, the B-2, F-22, and F-35 avionics have the ability to analyze the seeking radar's angle of incidence, signal strength, and signal characteristics, and create the lowest possible RCS by orienting the aircraft appropriately. It may not offer the most efficient flight condition and it may cost more fuel because the aircraft is presenting a less than optimum aerodynamic shape, but if EM penetration is the highest priority, we will pay that price.

    For the B-2, what it mean is that the flying wing will change direction in a relatively flat manner with one wingtip aerodynamically retarded and some amount of asymmetric engine thrust. No rolling maneuver like a typical aircraft. It mean that if a seeking radar is unable to see the aircraft from its side aspect angle, the aircraft can change direction towards the seeking radar's position to a frontal aspect angle without an increase in RCS, and attack that radar position or whatever it is defending.

    It is not possible for the PAK to have its vertical stabs removed and can still fly.
