Of course it was not accident - attack was on the next day after terrorists attack in St. Petersburg.

Question is, how do you prove it and if Russian/Syria knew it was a CW store, why would they target it instead of using it for their advantage and telling NATO and the media about it?

    Theatrics, as I suggested.

U.S. missiles did as little damage in Syria as possible, and Russia chose not to use S-400 defense

Donald Trump ordered the United States military to fire fifty or more powerful Tomahawk missiles into Syria tonight, creating visibly explosive fireworks in what looked on TV to be an overwhelming response to Bashar al-Assad’s chemical gas attack on his own people. But a closer examination reveals that the U.S. missiles inflicted minimal damage. And despite Russia’s built in ability to have blown those missiles out of the sky, it chose not to do so – suggesting this was all mere military theater.

The U.S. Tomahawk missiles used in the attack could have been struck down by the S-300 and S-400 surface-to-air weaponry which Russia already had in place in Syria, specifically to defend against this kind of attack (source: Washington Post). But Russia chose not to do so. That suggests Russia knew in advance that the U.S. missiles would not be imposing serious damage. Russia could only have known this if the U.S. told it as much in advance.

Accordingly, NBC News is reporting on-air tonight that at least one Syrian air base, the U.S. strike only took out planes and fueling stations, while leaving the two airstrips fully intact. The airstrips would have required significant reconstruction, but the equipment can theoretically be replaced tomorrow if Russia opts to bring in replacements. So with the airstrips intact, the Syrian air force is still fully in business.

Tonight’s U.S. attack seemed tailor made to look fierce to casual viewers at home, while inflicting as little real damage to Assad’s air force capability as possible. Trump went out of his way not to substantially impair Assad, and in return Russia decided not to defend the attack on its close ally Syria. For that matter, Russia seemed to have already known what the U.S. would hit when it made the decision not to take out the incoming missiles.

Regardless of any public jawing between the U.S. and Russia tonight, this reeks of carefully crafted military theater. I explore their likely motivation in detail here. Palmer Report calls on the relevant Senate oversight committees to investigate.

Syria was warned of US strike threat: military source

Damascus (AFP) - Syria's armed forces were warned about the threat of American military action hours before the US strike on the Shayrat airbase on Friday, a military source said.

"We learned of the American threat and the expected military bombardment on Syrian territory," the source told AFP.

"We took precautions in more than one military point, including in the Shayrat airbase. We moved a number of airplanes towards other areas," the official said, adding they were forewarned "hours" before the strike.

He did not specify where the planes had been moved to or who had warned the Syrian government.

American forces fired a barrage of 59 cruise missiles at Shayrat airbase in central Syria overnight -- the first time the US has carried out direct military action against President Bashar al-Assad's troops.

US officials said Russia's military in Syria had been informed of the strike beforehand in order to avoid casualties that could prompt a broader crisis.

The Kremlin confirmed it had been warned by the United States, but refused to say whether any Russian soldiers had to be evacuated from the base.

According to the Syrian military source, the strike put nine planes out of service, including several that were "totally destroyed".

It came in response to a suspected chemical attack on a rebel-held town on Tuesday widely blamed on the Damascus regime, which has repeatedly denied it has used toxic substances.

Instead, the Syrian government says, it struck a warehouse used by jihadist groups to store toxic substances.

Another source says six planes were destroyed, expect they were not flyable.

Nobody need to prove his innocence, because there are such thing as presumption of innocence. Prosecutor should prove blame.
Why we don't tell NATO? Becouse NATO don't want to hear us. For them "terrorists" are good, and Russians are bad. We many times told them about usage of CW by terrorist, and they didn't react. When terrorists make blasts in St. Petersburg what was the official West reaction?

60m$ has paid it is returns.
    US has ascertained its position,
    Anti-Trump's would think before reacting,
Chinese are spooked before the meeting (towed the lines without even thinking why or what),
Oil and funds movement has been analyzed in case of larger conflict,
Trump Russia link will shut their mouths,
paved way for upgraded missiles procurement,
    etc etc..

I would say worth every penny.

Not in this case, since it is esteblished that there was an air strike, just as well a nerv gas released in result of that attack. So if Russia claims not to have used that gas on their fighters, nor that Syrian fighters used it, it is on Russia to prove their claim.

That's an excuse, if you know that there were chemical they could have stated that before the attack and at least had European nations nations try to investigate or handle it. Russia signed the treaty to ban Syrian chemical weapons just as Nato countries, so if Russia pointed to a specific threat, it was in Russias and NATO interest to investigate that. Russia shares military intel about IS targets with NATO countries too, so sharing evidence of chemical weapons would be logical as well, if there was evidence and at least would had put Russia in a morally better position.
Now everything hints to an air strike either without Russian knowledge, which shows a lack of control, or with knowledge about it and that would be worse.

Or an expensive show to divert attention from the Russian link and the Trumps?
The attacks united the county behind Trump and make him look strong against Russia and Azad.
But at the same time, Russia knew about the attack before the US congress did and that officially from the Trump administration.

Expect Trump was taking too much heat because of the gas attack, pictures of babies and children being gassed push him into a reaction against a small airfield after warning Russian. Trump is rather unpredictable and the gas attacks were a test to see if he would react.

It was a show, but what exactly kind of show? What kind of message did Trump make? He don't know Russians symbolic systems, but we have common Book - Bible. Why there were 59 missiles?
May be, it is Mtw 5:9
"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."
But more likely it is from Mark 5:9

"And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many."

So, he try to say that he is not just stupid, but possessed by demons, or can not control his behavior.

There were many such pictures in last few years and his position (at least in 15 tweets) was absolutely another.
I'm sure, there are something more seriouse.
