Taiwan had a trade surplus of $51.56 billion for 2015. (Citation: http://focustaiwan.tw/news/aeco/201601080018.aspx )

Worldwide, I think Taiwan ranks only behind Germany in trade-surplus per capita.

This year, Taiwan's trade surplus will be similar to last year's $51.56 billion.

For August 2016, Taiwan's trade surplus was US$3.99 billion.

Where does Taiwan's trade surplus come from? I answered this question in the thread: Taiwan's Billion-dollar Tech Companies

Taiwan's billion-dollar tech companies are strong in electronics and semiconductors. Companies like Taiwan's TSMC, MediaTek, UMC, Delta Electronics, ASE, etc. just keep on growing.
