A corvette (sometimes corvet) is a small, maneuverable, lightly armed warship, originally smaller than a frigate (2,000+ tons) and larger than a coastal patrol craft or fast attack craft (500 or fewer tons)

destroyer is a fast and maneuverable yet long-endurance warship intended to escort larger vessels in a fleet, convoy or battle group and defend them against smaller, powerful, short-range attackers.
The Indian Navy operates three Delhi-class destroyers. These ships are armed with Kh-35 missiles, which have a range of 130 km, in the anti-ship role. They will be replaced by the Brahmos cruise missiles. Shtil (SA-N-7 Gadfly) system is installed to counter airborne threats. The Barak 1 point-defense missile system has been installed in INS Delhi and will soon be installed in the other two ships of its class. These destroyers also carry anti-submarine rockets and torpedoes. The destroyers have the capability to carry two Sea King helicopters. The Delhi class will be augmented by the new Kolkata-class destroyers, the first of which was launched in March 2006.

A battlecruiser, or battle cruiser, was a large capital ship built in the first half of the 20th century. They were similar in size and cost to a battleship, and typically carried the same kind of heavy guns, but battlecruisers generally carried less armour and were faster.

The term "frigate" originated in the Mediterranean in the late 15th century, referring to a lighter galleass type ship with oars, sails and a light armament, built for speed and maneuverability.
Shivalik class - 3 active, 7 more possible
    Talwar class - 6 ships
    Project 16A Brahmaputra Class - 3 ships
Project 16 Godavari class - 3 ships commissioned
Nilgiri class - 1 ship in service + 5 commissioned (modified Leander class)

An amphibious assault ship (also referred to as a commando carrier or an amphibious assault carrier) is a type of amphibious warfare ship employed to land and support ground forces on enemy territory by an amphibious assault.

Russian shipyard to deliver third frigate to India
    (Xinhua)
    09:04, June 26, 2013

SAINT PETERSBURG, June 25 (Xinhua) -- Russia's Yantar Shipyard said Tuesday that it will hand over
on Saturday the last of the three frigates it contracted to build for India.

The handover ceremony of frigate Trikand will be attended by Indian naval officers and diplomats
as well as representatives of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, said the Kaliningrad shipmaker.

The first two vessels under the 1.6-billion-U.S.-dollar contract, Teg and Tarkash, were delivered in
    April and November 2012.

Russian media reported that the new frigates are each equipped with eight BrahMos supersonic cruise
missiles and an antisubmarine warfare helicopter, among others.

    Some interesting new info.
Seems like the 2nd batch of Talwar class frigates have AK-630(clearly visible in the pic of INS Trikand below) instead of Kashtan as CIWS, but I don't suppose they'd also have the Barak-1 missiles in VLS since its a Russian built frigate, but i might be wrong.

Even SIPRI doesn't mention AK-630 CIWS for Talwar frigates, the no. given in SIPRI is all accounted for considering all the future and current IN ships.

Just as a point of interest, the September issue of 'Warships International Fleet Review' has a couple of nice photo's of INS Trikand in it.
An excellent one of her exiting the narrow entrance to Portsmouth Harbour after her visit to the UK,on her way home to India.
Also one of her commissioning ceremony at Kaliningrad, and a good shot from above of her forecastle, showing her weapons systems.

    Nice looking ship!
