There is no comparison. You need numbers relatively faster. Tejas is now only evolving.

please clear me if am wrong ,
IPE private industry production was shifted to DRDO ?
i am sure DRDO wouldn t go that level.
who might be responsible and what the probable reason for it?

    :cheesy:

Hmm.The current life span will obviously be increased later with refits.Atleast that's something we are world beater in ,increasing life span.Tejas will probably outlast both theses planes simply because we won't have to dole out billions during major refits to LM and SAAB for every small enhancement. Thus making it affordable to extract every last bit of service life from it.For others it will turn into a cost-benefit analysis.

No way for me to know thus can't comment. However, turnaround time and sortie rate will be seriously messed with this kind of figure not what we have heard till now.

Nothing official about it.But it's the closest guesstimate I have.

What happened to that extra ton for Tejas?Meanwhile gripen e has max payload of 5100 kg(not 6 ton) acc to SAAB.Can't find official figure for F16 Block 70,if anyone can post it..

Yes. Shifted from S@#@$%& Rubbers Private Limited to DRDO ...

To be 'indigenous' of course :) ..... it was not DRDO call ;)

Who and why? Sweden? get the drift?

And we imported a large amount of IPE last year. See the indigenous efforts?

99.99% ppl will call IAF as import hungry and will use choicest of the profanities for the comment..

I wonder what will same people do when they come to know what our bureaucrats write and comment about Tejas in files...

In short, IAF is not the main devil... look around.. you will find the real ones somewhere else..

The classical case of CYA - cover your ass. And being a frog in a well.

CYA - see how the 'change in GSQR of rifle' is touted as being reason for not inducting a weapon and oft repeated here too when in fact, the single vendor situation made the GoI backtrack always? :D

    Hilarious

Bang on, IAF was not in for F-16. Let me head over to the other forum. And retype what I wrote then - it shall be F-16 as is a political deal. :)

My moment of being the smart arse and saying - "I told you so".

Secondly, PROJECT LCA will evolve and be inducted. There is no doubt on that. What we need is relatively faster induction of numbers. LCA is not evolved yet to be able to match two fronts.

I am hopeful with the change in policy and ecosystem being built in India, we may have further enhancements as necessary and fielding of the product somewhere in mid of next decade is numbers that matter.

not just IPE , i see many times building up on what we succeed is missing, in govt institutions.
ALH was made many years go .. we still import helicopters in massive scale ( LUH + light & medium choppers both Naval & IAF + IA Attack helis)
why failed to expand it excepting LUH where also we import again!

I think this is shitty reporting. They said Tejas alone can't protect Indian skies. which is true. Who the hell told IT that Tejas alone was supposed to protect Indian skies?

The word 'cartel' makes me nervous especially involving armed forces. Somebody even used 'B***h...':disagree:. IMO its active servicemen who are putting their lives on the line(certainly not us forum warriors). So their word rules period.
