We are not using RCL guns. We do not hold them and neither do we make their shells.

We have excellent success with HEAT of Carl Gustav and ofcourse, use a combination of IFG 105 mm and some Vijayants in direct fire role along with the Zu-23s.

Also, pertinent to note, the IA units in LC also have ATGMs with them. These are being used where there is a high value target with significant level of protection in tandem with Mortar Munitions and Carl Gustav 84 mm both in airburst and surface burst roles.

    That is Carl Gustav :D

Recoil Less guns, I specified :D

In IA, if you say RCL, this is what it is. (Hint: Recall Mathura Das returning in Border movie just before attack with rifle mounted Anti Tank RCL guns :))

If you say RL, then we get the RL 84 mm Carl Gustav Mk 1 to 3 :D

Those jeep mounted Dinosaurs are long gone... Carl Gustavs do work on the principle of Recoilless Rifles. hence I guess the terming confusion

There is no confusion on my side. OFB can call it mickey mouse for all I care. Being a defence forum, I try and keep the language as per the correct IA usage/designation. RCL in IA is automatically the Jeep mounted RCL Guns. RL is the designation of the Carl Gustav which we use.

It is like MARPAT is not used in IA and I find members using it a lot. Only in Nathan McBride series of novels is MARPAT and 5.11 Tactical being given a great emphasis. India it is Combat Dress Disruptive Pattern or BDU max. Correct official parlance is FSMO (field service marching order).

more on topic, I think India is in firm mind to have a grip on the escalation matrix at the LoC and we will go for pro-active and pre-emptive hits across and on the LoC it seems. However, having seen the LoC terrain, anything that we do they can also retaliate in the same manner. We will have have to be in constant LIC mode and Do we use IFG 105 mms, I believe have been silent for some time (correct me if I am wrong)...

What do you think is going on overall ? The activity isn't surprising, but giving a press statement on it is..

Controlled escalation? I think IA is in the driving seat.

The public ownership of the video is meant to force PA's hand. There can be no other logic behind this. IA would never go public if it did not want an escalation. Now the game is, will PA escalate?

If they do, they play into IA's hands, if they do not, they lose credibility in their own nation.

I will read it in the overall matrix of GCC meet with Trump and Trump calling India a victim of terror and commending Indian efforts in Counter Terror and in the same forum, Pakistan being put on a cold storage.

Do we see a subtle buildup of alignments to force the main exporters of Terror to fall in line?
I have always speculated about Iran and Pakistan getting bracketed as trouble makers and Baluschistan being the 'Achilles heel' for them here.

Statement of IA is noteworthy: as part of counter terror operations.
