The same nation that accepted Obama's election will also accept Trump's. USA is bigger than either of them, or indeed any one person.

Trump's most dangerous long-term influence will be turning back the EPA and possible withdrawing from the Paris Agreement. Anthropogenic global climate change is a difficult pill to swallow because it's a bit abstract in how it works, the rate of change is relatively gradual, countering it requires committed investment in the long-term, and there's big money behind propagandizing against its understanding. Ironically it's also possibly one of the most pressing problems. There's a significant risk we annihilate our ecosystems in the long-term.

I'm more worried about Soros than Trump. Soros needs locking up for treason.

I don't think he will turn back the Paris agreement.

Whilst they claim to be the exact opposite of Hitler, have you noticed what terrible little Nazis neo-liberals are when they don't get their own way?

Hopefully they'll make him pay for all the damage to property and then lock him up for treason.

While there are some professional protesters in the USA most of them are out their because of the Racist tone of the election, most blacks in the USA feel like they have been slapped across the face and called the N word, same for latinos. Add 30 million people slated to be deported or deprived of their insurance and their nearly 100 million relatives and you get a large number living in fear and that are angry.. The demostrations are a natural outgrowth of that fear and anger.

THere will probably be relative peace at the beginning of his term. But he will fail to deliver on his promises. He will take credit for what momentum of prosperity is left from Obama's policies, he may fund infrastructure projects now that Republicanss won't be obstructing every reform the president attempts, and he will get some growth out of sacrificing necessary EPA. But when he fails to magically uplift middle America and deport illegal migrants or end terrorism, every piece of evidence suggests he will scapegoat foreigners, and then things will get really ugly.

You will see trade deals between the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

Getting rid of illegal immigrants is easy, just like getting rid of a cold, easy, as long as you don't have AIDS/liberals.

And how to get rid of AIDS? Liberals (read: Communists) over here are quite well-entrenched. Maybe US are a bit different, but... what I have seen, not by much. They didn't wait for Muslims to start trashing the US.
