    understanding Mandukya upanishad:
Upanishads are collection of writings that contain the central philosophy of Hinduism. The Madukya upanishad belongs to atharva veda and is one of the shortest upanishads.

it is also considered to be one of the most difficult upanishad to understand.
It deals with the question "Who am I"?

I am adding a video here that gives the most basic explanation of Mandukya Upanishad. the video is a long one, but you can probably listen to then while sleeping etc. it gave me a lot of peace while trying to understand the inner meaning.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I have begun an exercise of trying to understand the vedas and the upanishads. I am hoping I will be able to complete this or atleast gain some mastery in the next few years. at which point I will be able to contribute to many discourses.

During the course of learning, I want to share the best videos, thoughts, readings I have done and request other people to share it here. at some point, I request @PARIKRAMA @vstol jockey @Levina @Agent_47 to help me add to the repository of knowledge on hinduism - which can be used in arguments, debates and removing ill-speaking of the sanatana dharma. Please let me know if this can be added to our blog - and I will contribute to it once a week on whatever I am reading about.

I believe this is an important aspect in the fight against radicalism, pseudo secularism and anti hindu bashing.

Devdutt is very popular to every section because of his way of presentation and more inclusive view of Hinduism.

Best book of Rajiv -> https://www.amazon.in/Being-Different-Challenge-Western-Universalism-ebook/dp/B005UQ3YT8
He has a bit extreme right prospective.

At the airport book stores I have seen a lot of Devdutt Patnaik's books. It looks tempting.
But in one of the books that I bought I read his explanation on Aryan invasion theory and I decided never to read his books again. I thought his explanations were superficial without going into the scientific Details.
    Which one have you read?

Jaya, Myth=Mithya, Business sutra. I was fascinated by his Indian vs west prospective on business.

For Aryan theory there is no definite answer yet atleast scientifically. No point dissecting it.

    Good going!!!
But buddy I'm in India right now and my net speed is slow af. Gosh!
I would definitely like to add to this.

Let begin with a shloka from Isha Upanishad:
    **********
    Om poornamadah poornamidam poornaat poornamudachyate

    Poornasya poornamaadaaya poornamevaavashishsyate

    Om shaantih shaantih shaantih
    ************

This is a very important mantra which one should know and understand.
When loosely translated it means: (read this when free, and skip to the part below translation)

Om, That is complete, This is complete, From the completeness comes the completeness.
    Poornasya poornamaadaaya poornamevaavashishá¹£yate

If completeness is taken away from completeness, Only completeness remains.

    Om shaantih shaantih shaantih

    Om, Peace peace peace

    ****************

The above meaning is what is taught to us.
At first it makes no sense to anyone with an average IQ like mine. But if you probe deeper this is the theory of nothingness of the universe.
Everything begins and ends in nothing!!
The Big Bang theory fits in so beautifully into this shloka.
The dark matter of the universe which we thought contributes zilch to the space we exist in is, actually the most important component. It has now been proven scientifically too.

I hope I have been able to put it across well.

Yes he did well in busting some myths etc.
    Not true.
There's enough evidence to prove that there was no invasion, but you see it works in favour of a lot of "races" to make this theory believable.
Indian historians must come out more aggressively against those who propagate the lies of AIT. IMO!

Caucasian invasion happened or not, that is totally different debate.

But that is fact DNAs from Caucasus, Mongoloid, Negroid and Australoid exist in India. And now there are good evidences even that point of origin of Sanskrit and Dravidian language is different.

    Yes!
This so because India-Africa and Australia at one point of time were joined together as a landmass.
1 in 10 ppl in this world have Genghis khan's genes. Tell me something new.

So how does that prove AIT???

As far as Sanskrit is concerned it's has developed from Proto Dravidian languages like Tamil supplied to Europeans through Latin and Greek.
Recent discoveries by etymologists have proved Tamil languages influence on Slavic languages. Try this.

We can continue discussing VEDAS here.

Nope , Sundaland was never connected with Australian landmass, even at the height of glacial maxima.

10 out of 10 people in NE hold mongoloid genetics.

I never said that, you assuming invasions like modern invasions. But that was entirely impossible in that age with such low population. There was no standing army in that age. This was more like movement of population, and then population acclimation to that landmass.[/QUOTE]

Think twice before you say NEVER.

Which era are you talking about ?
Migration in such large number has not even been proved.
    So stop making wild guesses.
Yes a cataclysmic event took place and that was the drying of river Saraswati.
Gangetic planes then became the hub of activities.

And Mongolid genes prove that Sanskrit came from outside India?? Lol

What a crap. You want to go into crateceous period?

Then why not to Cambrian? And then say all humans came from Cambrian? Lol.

Such genetics bombardment to subcontinent came from planet mars. Yup it never been proved.

You assume lot of things, I only said point of origin of these 2 languages are different.

Or you assuming India was only Deccan traps and Ganges plains?
