I think basic education in UP is 1st to 8th. 8th to 12th is secondary.

I don't know why secondary education was reduced. Maybe they will explain.

By that logic no one goes to primary education also in UP..... so he sould cut that too. I'm wondering...maybe he doesn't want Dailts and depressed classes to progress 'too much'. :fuu:

A very large amount of this budget was being wasted as bribes and as donations to Madarsas. I am happy that this wastage will now stop.

    Thanks for posting bro.

Hey, @Guynextdoor kindly avoid news article which shows one side of the picture . Refer the Budget document before concluding anything. It shows the budget has been increased considerably.

As far has the laptop news is concerned, its good.

BC, nobody should get anything for free. Socialist policy should be limited to food, shelter, education and employment. Laptop is luxury.Period.

The happiness some clowns get by living in lala land and reading janta ka reporter is astonishing.

You see the joy of such clowns while giving any bad news about India! They feel so happy when china turn down indian proposal for NSG, or anything wrong happens at border.

Why? It will hurt modi in elections!

No wonder india is getting rid of such clowns for good. One good thing to be observed about resilience of indians is that even when these clowns called the shot we magically survived though they destroyed most of the central and east indian states they ruled.

Anyways it may be hard for to comprehended for kanhaiya brigade to add up numbers or read the budget document so posting a link in simple language.

'Total budget for education in UP is 25.4% higher': Adityanath government refutes Rahul Gandhi's claim

NEW DELHI/LUCKNOW: The Yogi Adityanath government on Sunday dismissed media reports and Rahul Gandhi 's charge of cut in budgetary allocation for education and said that money allocated for the sector has in fact been increased by over 25 per cent.A section of media had reported that the UP government has slashed money for education. Citing one such report, Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi had taken a dig at the Adityanath government and made a sarcastic suggestion to "now close down hospitals also to save money."Strongly rejecting these reports and refuting Rahul's charge, an official spokesman of the UP government said, "The total budget for primary, secondary and higher education in the UP budget for 2017-18 is Rs 62,185.25 crore as compared to the previous budget of 2016-17 of Rs 49,607.93 crore, which is 25.4 per cent higher."He said the budget for primary education is Rs 50,142 crore this time compared to Rs 38,066.06 crore last time, which is 31.7 per cent more.Similarly, the budget for secondary education is 4.8 per cent higher than the previous fiscal. This year Rs 9,387.44 crore has been earmarked for the department, compared to Rs 8,956.86 crore last time. For higher education, he said, the allocation this time is 2.7 per cent more than the last financial year. For 2017-18, Rs 2,655.81 crore has been earmarked against Rs 2,585.01 crore in the last fiscal. The Yogi Adityanath government presented its first annual budget in the state assembly on July 11.(With inputs from PTI)

    from the same report:

"The higher education sector also saw a significant cut this year. Last year’s budget had a provision of Rs 2,742 crore, while this year it was Rs 272.77 crore, marking a shortfall of Rs 2,469.73 crore."

"Basic education, however, saw a rise in fund allocation of Rs 5,867 crore from last year’s Rs 15,632 crore to Rs 21,499 crore now"

higher education fund short fall: 2469.73 cr
basic education increase : 5,867 crore

a school kid with basic education would know that overall, education budget has increased.

but obviously people have a lot of "higher education" without "basic education" will not be able to understand. hence the state of affairs.
