We should keep supporting Russia.
This maybe USA's plan to try and reduce funding for Russian military research.
At the same time bring in some money to the USA.
We should not keep eye on short term gains.
Indigenization and Russia are the way to go in the long term.
And if we take funding off from Russia, they'll suffer, which in turn will affect our long term prospects.
We cannot trust USA.
Once they gan the upper hand, they'll do what the like and not care for any deals.

In 2011 when the UK was considering buying EMALS, the cost for one complete system with arrestor gear was quoted at $200 million.

So roughly the cost of a C17 which I reckon is pretty reasonable for such technology.

The Indian Defence Minister yestrday stated in the parliament that the T-72 tank fleet is being optimally used and is the mainstay of the present tank fleet. The entire fleet of this tank is fully battle worthy with high mission and operational reliability. A part of the T-72 fleet is already equipped with high end technology night vision device which has been fully integrated and exploited. Further, the process of upgrading the night fighting capabilities with the state-of-the-art thermal imaging is an ongoing process.
