I am with you. Force the churches to appoint woman priests and bishops, cardinals etc. Force the mosques to have woman imams.

The temple has some rituals and those rituals are sacrosanct to the devotees and the temple management. This is nothing new, there are many places which are extremely restrictive in who they admit but this news is nothing compared to the history of Jagannath Temple.

Indira Gandhi was denied entry to Puri Jagannath because of her husband Feroze Gandhi not being a born hindu. They are this strict and for good reason. The whole legend of Jagannath and how the temple was built and the subsequent ritual of Rath Yatra all are intricately connected with each other and as such non-hindus are not only barred but disallowed to take part in any activities as this is against the basic tenets of the Jagannath legend where the Queen was barred from entry until the work was completed and as she violated the norm, Jagannath himself being the carpenter (as the legend goes) left the work unfinished. He later on came to the King in his dreams and demanded utmost loyalty from everyone entering the temple as one mistake by the queen must not be repeated again. If anyone repeats the mistake like less devotion or scepticism etc. then Lord Jagannath will destroy the whole royal family and Puri along with it.

Ask anyone in Puri, they fear Jagannath more than anyone. During rathyatra it has been reported many times that the Rath won't move for several reasons. The King has to come and sweep the passage of the Rath and then it moves. It may all be bogus. But Jagannath looms large on Puri and Orissa and playing with sentiments of so many people should never be attempted.

This is a bogus thread by people who have no knowledge about religious sentiments and history of a certain place. Secularism does not work and should not work in all places. It is a Hindu temple and a revered one at that and it has its own line of priests who decide what to do under the patronage of the King of Orissa. Who are we to question it for the sake of questioning it?

Offences under S 295, 295A, 297 of IPC are made out or can be made out. But were not.

Correction. Sanatan dharm does not believe in Original Sin. Nor Jainism, Buddhism or Sikhism for that matter.
