I am trying to gather more news and infos, on defence related matters (especially aviation, or navy topics) and want to use Twitter as an additional medium more often. So whom are you following?

Defence news sites and journalists, defence companies, active or ex professionals..., please post links!

    Thx, Sancho

Jane's for informative articles, it lacks depth without a subscription, but has some interesting stuff. One of the most credible sources out there.

Defence Blog for interesting pictures, usually focuses on Russia and Ukraine, often just uses manufacture data. Very shallow source but interesting for the information on new russian and ukrainian systems

Defense News for a more news-like source. Has current events and some politics on it. Very US centric.

Breaking Defense more opinion pieces, much like WIB/Foxtrot, Keep in mind that the authors of the articles have an agenda, but it provides interesting perspectives.

Oryx Blog and Within Syria. Both provide info specifically on Syria, not super regular with the information, but when it does come out it is super informative and usually keeps an even keel with the many sides of the conflict. Highly Recommended

Live Fist India-centric, but interesting to see more information about a growing market that doesn't get much attention from other sources.

USNI News US navy centric, but has informative stuff. Keep in mind that this source is from a naval think-tank, but it has a lot of information that is utilized by the decision makers in Congress directly.

Defense Update This is mostly a technology centric site, politically neutral.

Defense Industry Daily Good for keeping up with various procurement programs and emerging technologies. Politically neutral and mostly looking about actual facts and capabilities.

The Firearms Blog more civilian oriented, but has good stuff about the arms of various armed forces and new developments.

Military and Aerospace again, more tech centric and generally just uses manufacturer info.

China Defense Blog Info straight from china, has lots of interesting info and pictures from China and gives a pretty indepth look at what's happening behind the great firewall

Russian Defense Policy Blog from Russia, has a lot of in depth stuff about the inner workings of the Russian military and MIC

Defense One editorialized and politically charged content, but most of it is pretty good for opinion pieces.

The Hoplite NGO blog with hard facts about conflicts and technologies. Good for stuff about non-pear related conflicts and is politically neutral.

Below the Turret Ring Probably the most informative website on the web when it comes to armored vehicles and the technology behind them on the web. Highly Recommended with good information and regularity

PLA Realtalk another good website for finding out what goes on beyond the great firewall in china. Good for tracking development of new Chinese projects

Eastern Arsenal another china-centric site. it's Popsci, so it is not the most academic of sources, but it has some good stuff, even if most of it is overblown.

    thanks to reddit :drag:

Me neither, especially not for discussions or fan following of celebs. But as a medium to get latest news and infos, it's one of the fastest solutions imo. Linking news or posting pics of arms and techs is simple and fast via smartphone today and that gives Twitter an advantage overy websites in terms of speed and reach.
