Do not take me wrong but Latin america is basically a western culture, and more or less is the same as the USA

Brazil and other nations also generate news

I would sugggest latin america should be included in the US-Europe section

it depends in the nation, Uruguay and Argentina are basically Spain and Italy and Brazil is an USA south american version, i agree, there are some differences but i guess where shall post the Latin american thread?

In my opinion the only big difference now between the US and Latin america is wealth, but culturally or ethnically some nations like Argentina are now more European culturally than even the US
    see

Ethnic groups: white (mostly Spanish and Italian) 97%, mestizo (mixed white and Amerindian ancestry), Amerindian, or other non-white groups 3%

Ethnic groups: white 88%, mestizo 8%, black 4%, Amerindian (practically nonexistent)

But true, we are not completely European as "latin America as a whole"

Ethnic groups: mestizo (Amerindian-Spanish) 60%, Amerindian or predominantly Amerindian 30%, white 9%, other 1%http://www.indexmundi.com/mexico/ethnic_groups.html

Very interesting information. Its surprising how Latin America flys under the radar versus maybe US and Canada even Mexico. These countries have been extensively colonized by non native white races from Europe. To think in retrospect, historically the Chinese had the largest naval fleet on the planet decades before the Europeans, but China then decided not to explore the seas. Seems they have woken up to their massive historical error with aggressive Space exploration.

We are not colonized, we are a mixture of races, we are the mixture of the Europeans colonizers with african and native slaves, but now we are a free nation.

The native american are genetically very close to the Asians, basically to the Mongolic stock

This is a typical Mexican native american basically very close to Filipinos or even Chinese

well true Latin america has not a lot of military expenditure that is true, but we do not lack technology, for example Brazil sold awacs to India and is selling the KC-390 in Europe and Argentina makes helicopters and some few military stuff, i mean we have a small arms industry, but i was not really suggesting to make a section for Latin america, only to include Latin america in the Europe and US.

    Brazilian made AWACS for India

Pucara made in Argentina for Sri Lanka

Embraer designed aircraft built under license in England

Stand corrected thanks. It is a very interesting mix of races from the S America and Europe. How does the Aztecs and Maya in Mexico today feel about Spanish conquistadors? Certainly they were a mighty empire and grand civilization that fell to the invaders from Europe.

The Koreans say the aboriginal people of the Americas are ethnically related to their race of Altaic people, which also include the Mongolian, Japanese, Manchurian Chinese and Siberian Russians.

In mexico, there is still a lot of racism, but not like in South Africa in the 1980s or even the US in the 1960s.

But today`s native american are mixing with the Europeans so Mexico is becoming a new nation and ethnicity.

The Aztecs are indeed Mongolic in origin, but not so close to the Koreans in language, just in race.

Some people do have a lot of hate towards the Mexicans of Spanish and European descent, but since the inbreeding is still going on, most Mexicans today are Mestizo, they say close to 75% are Mestizo, however the Mestizo can change in proportion, in north Mexico they are 80% Spanish 20% native american and in south Mexico around 55% Spanish 45% native american.

In fact i think most Mexicans look similar to people from Tibet, Iran and Saudi Arabia, while some Mexicans have a very unique Mexican look, many Mexicans can go to the middle east and look like locals and the same for Tibet
see this is a Tibetan girl

Yes the similarities are remarkably unmistakable. There is definitely an Asian connection to the Americas original peoples. Tibetans are racially closer to today's Mongolians versus Han Chinese. In the past Tibetans were very ferocious war like people but became completely peaceful Buddhists later. Well actually the land masses of Asia and America are connected across the Bering strait so there were historical migrations as anthropologists say. I guess since there are separate white and aboriginal races there will be racism, though thankfully it is not so blatant in Mexico. Which is the race that runs the country's government since the natives are in minority in their own lands?

Well here is a funny thing from 1821 to around 1960s, the USA used to control Latin America through the European Latin american populations of white Spanish or Portuguese, but since the 2000s we had more mestizos running the countries in Latin America.

Today there is a trend for Mestizos in Mexico to gain access to governmental positions, but still Mexico is controled by the Criolles (Mexicans of European stock) whom are in the very top position of the government, but there is no racial discrimination like in south Africa in the 1980s, just the Mexicans of European origin usually are more educated and there is no law that says a race should rule over others

our president is obviously a Mexican of Spanish descent

But Mestizos are also in some top positions however sadly most native Americans are in Misery

The despicable treatment of Bolivian President recently in Europe at the behest of the US was a eye opener. It showed what these countries REALLY thought of the native peoples. Guess the US even mistook one of our diplomats as a native. The plight of the native people as in the picture is deplorable and to think all the land and its resources belonged to their ancestors. There is a lot of wrong that needs to be undone.

I think Mexico should offer special privileges to native people since they are disadvantaged groups like the first nations of Canada.
