    Russian Military Faces Corruption Apocalypse
Next Article → NAVAL AIR: Indian Carrier Evicted

January 17, 2012: A year ago, the president of Russia ordered an extensive financial audit of senior generals and admirals. The auditors found corruption and irregularities in every branch of the military. Not so much outright theft, but more using ones rank and connections to start businesses on the side. Some of these enterprises made the officers quite wealthy. It was found that they went to great lengths to hide this additional outcome by parking it overseas and putting it in the name of wives, children, or other kin. The auditors also found that when these senior officers were caught, the most severe punishment they received was to be retired from the armed forces. They kept their modest pensions, and all the money they were making on the side. Some officers, who stole money or equipment, were caught and received harsher punishment. There were also other officers who seemed to have more unreported income than their secret businesses indicated. The extra cash was probably from bribes.

    India And The Corrupt Commodore
Next Article → WEAPONS: A Super-Weapon That Works
February 11, 2011: India, after a year of investigating the senior naval officer in charge of the aircraft carrier Gorshkov procurement project, has decided that the officer (commodore, equivalent to U.S. rear admiral, Sukhjinder Singh) was guilty of something, and he was dismissed from the navy. The damage, however, has already been done. Two years ago, India agreed, after five years of haggling, to pay Russia an additional $1.3 billion to have the Russian aircraft carrier Gorshkov refurbished to Indian specifications. The original deal was the for about a billion dollars. But once the Russians got to work, things got complicated, and out of control. Indians are not happy with the cost increase. Commodore Singh was a key part of the negotiations, and there were accusations that he was paid off by the Russians to insure that Russia got the best of the deal. But Singh was dismissed mainly because he was found to be having an affair with a Russian woman. There was not enough evidence to prosecute him for corruption. India, however, wanted to send a message, especially in light of how much of a mess the Gorshkov project had become.
In the last decade, the Indian government has conducted more and more investigations for this sort of misbehavior. Not because there is more corruption in military procurement, but because the ancient practice has been getting more publicity. The Internet, in particular, made it easier for whistleblowers to be heard.

As corruption goes espcially in the military Russia and India which are two of the most corrupt nations on earth,( look up corruption index,) now they are going to be doing business on one of the largest most complex military transaction between two countries on earth.

Is there any one besides me that thinks this is going to be anyting other then a complete disaster.
Am I the only one that sees the fact that India is going to get a royal screwing.

Pakistan like India are not developed enought to support and utilize the F35.

besides the India Airforce has the worse crash record in the world, you need planes you can afford to crash.
